Garlic Artichoke Dip

So do any of you remember the Thanksgiving episode of Friends where Monica is cooking dinner and Chandler is feigning an interest in football, but all he really wants to do is eat and watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? Welcome to my life. In high school, I loved going to football games, but once I got to college, I just lost interest. However. I get it. I also get the party aspect of things. And since I am all …

Lime Coconut Cheesecake

I like making cakes, but it’s not something I do very often.  Pretty much when someone’s birthday rolls around.  And since I don’t do it very often, I take a long time planning them when I do.  My husband had a birthday last week and I had a rich, dark, highly caloric (naturally) chocolate number all planned out in my head.  When it came time to run to the store last minute for ingredients he admitted he had something else …

Bruschetta

Kate and I have both openly admitted to eating Pico de Gallo straight from the bowl with a spoon.  If you’re like us, then chances are you’ll love Bruschetta, which I like to think of as the Italian version of Pico de Gallo (or maybe the Pico is a Mexican version of the Bruschetta? What came first, the chicken or the egg?!)   And if you’ve ever watched Giada and heard her throw overly pronounced Italian words into her normal …

Candy Bar Oven S’mores

So as I was drifting away to sleep the other night, I had this idea to make s’mores with Rolos instead of chocolate bars. The next morning, I ran to the store to get s’mores supplies when I saw the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and thought, “I like peanut butter and chocolate. I like peanut butter and graham crackers. I like peanut butter and marshmallows. I’m pretty sure I can’t go wrong here.” So I got some of those, too. …

Zucchini Cheese Quiche

My countertops are just about the same height as my four year old son.  Every time I go to the kitchen to cook, I see a little set of eyes peering over every surface in search of tidbits he can sneak.  The problem is that since I’m often styling and photographing food, things aren’t always in their containers.  He has on more than one occasion eaten a spoonful of salt thinking he was sneaking sugar, or even more often he …

Roasted Tomatillo Salsa

I’ve mentioned a time or two that I’m from Logan, Utah and I know we have a lot of readers with Cache Valley ties. Which means we probably have at least one thing in common…because it’s virtually impossible to visit, let alone live in Logan without visiting El Sol at least once. And if you’ve eaten at El Sol, I’m sure you’ve eaten their chips and salsa. And if you’ve eaten their chips and salsa, you’re probably wondering WHY I’m …

Southwestern Cobb Salad

I love salads for dinner, but in order for one to fly at my dinner table it has to 1. taste good (really good) and 2.  be hearty and filling enough that my husband doesn’t go make a sandwich 20 minutes after we clear the table.  This one fit the bill and has been making regular appearances at our house over the past couple of months.  It’s a fun twist on  cobb salad.  (Like cobb salads?  Check this one out)  …

Tortellini Pasta Salad

Lindsay Olives sent me a box of olive-y treats to try and while I had a brief and passionate love affair with the Nutty Almond Queen Olives (they were gone before I knew it and now, sadly, I can’t find them where I live), I really loved their resealable containers.Because, really, how often do you actually use an entire can of olives all at once? I loved being able to use a handful in a recipe without wasting the extras …

Ground Mustard and Garlic Vinaigrette

I’ll go out on a ledge here and say that I had some reservations about posting this recipe. It’s one of those that I’m crazy about, but I’m not sure how others feel, you know? In an effort to ensure its blogworthiness, I enlisted the help of 2 18-year-old girls, one with foodie tendencies and one who is hopelessly picky. I adequately warned the picky one about the mustard in the dressing and she was willing to try it and…this …

Chicken or Steak Fajitas

This recipe has been on our site for a long time- it was one of the first things we posted.  And somehow it hasn’t been updated with nice pictures until now. I feel like it’s been lost in the deep dark corners of our index and it deserves some attention because it’s one of our most favorite things!  This is probably the thing I make the very most when we have company over for dinner in the summer time because …
